For the second time this week, a sex toy was thrown onto the court during a WNBA game.
During the third quarter of the Golden State Valkyries’ 73-66 win over the Chicago Sky, a whistle stopped play as a sex toy was spotted under the basket. An official kicked it aside before it was removed.
Chicago Sky center Elizabeth Williams called the act “super disrespectful” after the game, adding, “I don’t get the point of it. It’s really immature. Whoever’s doing it needs to grow up.”
A similar incident happened earlier in the week during the Valkyries’ 77-75 victory over the Atlanta Dream. Valkyries forward Cecilia Zandalasini said, “First of all, it was super dangerous. When we realized what it was, we just started laughing—I’ve never seen anything like that. But we stayed focused and got through it.”
New York Liberty forward Isabelle Harrison took to social media, writing, “ARENA SECURITY?! Hello??! Please do better. It’s not funny—never was. Throwing ANYTHING on the court is dangerous.”
Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham also weighed in, saying, “Stop throwing dildos on the court… you’re going to hurt one of us.”
